Project Backpack is a community-based initiative led by Elgin Community College (ECC) and other event partners to benefit students in need by offering resources to start a school year. The event will be in person this year, at ECC, on August 3, 2024.
Project Backpack provides backpacks, school supplies, and/or resources for students in need who are enrolled at Elgin Community College (District 509) or school districts U-46, D300, D301, D303, or D20 - or reside therein. Backpacks are distributed before the start of the fall school year and are also available via the ECC Food Pantry for ECC students.
